Summerbridge Louisville gives your child the opportunity to attend a free, 6-week academic program for 2-3 summers.  The classes at Summerbridge are made up of 6-8 students, which allows for strong individual attention from the teachers.  At Summerbridge, the students begin work on the next year’s curriculum, which gives them a head-start on the school year.  All of the learning and teaching is hands-on and creative, providing the students with an alternative learning experience.

School-Year Tutoring Program

During the school year, Summerbridge offers tutoring after school at middle schools, churches, and community centers around Louisville.  If your student receives a C or below on a 6-week report, he/she will be required to attend tutoring weekly in order to remain in the program.  Students with A’s and B’s can attend tutoring if they wish extra support.  In 2016, Summerbridge partnered with another non-profit, Educational Justice, to provide tutoring outside of school.  We hope to continue this partnership in the future.

What grades do we expect?

Summerbridge has a strict policy regarding academic and conduct grades.  If your student receives a C or below on a 6-week report, he/she will be required to attend tutoring weekly in order to remain in the program. If a Summerbridge student receives a C or below for more than two 6-week report periods, they will be placed on probation.  If a student receives a C or below for three 6-week report periods, he/she will be permanently dismissed from the program.
